Which one is the best free VPN?

I’ve noticed a lot of people asking about free VPNs lately, so I thought I’d share my thoughts. I’ve tried several, and two that stand out are TunnelBear and ProtonVPN.

TunnelBear has a user-friendly interface with a fun design, making it super easy for beginners. The catch is that it only gives you 500MB of data per month. This might work for light browsing, but if you like streaming or downloading, you’ll hit that limit quickly. Plus, speeds can drop during peak times, which is something to consider if performance matters to you.

On the other hand, ProtonVPN offers unlimited data on its free plan, which is a big plus. It also has a solid reputation for security. The setup might be a bit more complicated than TunnelBear, but the extra features make it worthwhile. Just keep in mind that the free plan has speed limits, so you may not get the super-fast performance some users want.

If I weren’t on a tight budget, I’d definitely opt for a paid VPN. The faster speeds, unlimited data, and access to more servers would be a significant upgrade. Free VPNs get the job done, but they have their limitations.

I’ve used Free VPN Unlimited for basic browsing, and it did the job with decent speeds. However, the frequent ads and occasional slowdowns really showcased the limitations of free services. I definitely think a paid option would provide more reliability and better security.

I’ve used Proton vpn for the unlimited data, and while it’s slower than paid options, it works well for basic browsing. Tunnel Bear is fun and easy, but that 500mb limit gets used up way too quickly

Tunnelbeat doesn’t have the free extensions anymore ? They used to give 1GB if you mentioned them on Twitter and Instagram. I had a bot setup, that did this ever month on a dummy account.

TB was always a nice backup for incidental browsing

there’s no best free vpn option. Free ones are free bcz they sell our private data to companies

I’ve only tried Proton VPN, and it works well for basic browsing with unlimited data. The speeds can be a bit slow at times, but overall, it gets the job done. If I needed faster performance, I’d definitely look into a paid option like Nord VPN.

I’d consider OpenVPN, open source, free and no speed limits

Proton vpn is offers unlimited data and so so speed. Its a ok vpn but get get your expectations too high.

I’ve used Proton VPN, and it’s been great for casual browsing with unlimited data. The speeds can dip occasionally, but it gets the job done. If I ever need faster speeds and extra protection, I’d probably opt for a premium option like Nord VPN.

Tunnel Bear is great for beginners but limited by its 500MB monthly cap, while Proton VPN offers unlimited data with slower speeds. If speed, privacy and performance matter, a paid VPN is the smarter choice.

Proton is pretty good

500 MB on Tunnel VPN just isn’t enough for most users. Proton VPN is a solid free alternative, offering unlimited data, but it does come with some limitations, like fewer servers and average speeds, plus it lacks a kill switch. For serious tasks, paid options are definitely the way to go when using VPNs.
