I’m curious about how people quickly post clips online, like from interviews or sports highlights. I’m guessing they use some screen recording software that lets them go back and capture stuff. Maybe Nvidia Shadowplay? I want to find an easy way to create clips too, especially since these folks can grab and upload highlights within minutes, even during live events.
OBS Studio using Replay Buffer. You can use NVIDIA’s AV1 encoder, which will give you performance equal to or even better than ShadowPlay.
AMD’s version of Nvidia Shadowplay is just called Instant Replay, nothing fancy. I usually use OBS, but it’s a lot heavier on resources and not as efficient.
I use AssistantGG because it combines webcam and gameplay videoflows to create TikTok-like clips.
OBS has a feature called Replay Buffer. Same concept as Nvidia’s Shadowplay, but you get all the functionality of OBS. It uses the ‘recording’ encoding settings (as opposed to your ‘stream’ encoding settings).
I was using Replay Buffer for gaming. I had it set to keep the last 2.5 minutes, and I had a keyboard shortcut setup to save the buffer.
From there, another decent piece of software is ‘LosslessCut’ - it makes it a breeze to extract the important parts of a clip.
