Software for Scheduling Appointments in a Basic Health Unit

I’m a public employee in Brazil working at a Basic Health Unit, and we currently use a scheduling system that has several flaws, such as allowing me to:

  • Schedule more appointments than available (e.g., 7 for the doctor, 8 for the dentist)
  • Schedule appointments on days or shifts when the unit is closed (like Saturdays, Sundays, or nights) or when the doctor and dentist are out on home visits or school visits

I’m looking for a software solution where I can create a proper schedule, set up the correct number of appointments, and block out days or times when scheduling is not possible, making the process more intuitive. Any recommendations?

You might want to consider OpenEMR. It’s a comprehensive electronic medical record (EMR) system that also includes scheduling features. It’s widely used in healthcare settings and has a strong support community.
