I’m looking for a PDF viewer that works well on both Windows 10 and Android. I don’t need anything too fancy; it just needs to recognize bookmarks and maybe have access to Google Drive and a read-aloud feature. I’m currently using Adobe, but it feels a bit clunky and heavy, especially on the desktop.
If you want to stick with programs from the same developer, there aren’t many options out there. PDFgear has versions for both Windows and Android. The Android version is newly released and pretty basic, so it doesn’t have the read-aloud feature, but the Windows version does. You can find your PDFs in the Google Drive app and open them in PDFgear as a workaround for the integration.
I also remember that Microsoft Edge can handle PDFs, but I’m not sure if the Android version has the read-aloud feature. It’s pretty user-friendly, though.
If you’re open to programs from different developers, you’ll find more choices that might fit your needs on both platforms.
Just checked the Android version of Microsoft Edge,it can view PDFs, but it doesn’t read aloud the text.
On Windows, you might want to check out Sumatra PDF. It’s open-source and pretty straightforward without any unnecessary features.
For Android, MJ PDF is a solid choice, and it’s also open-source.
For your phone, you can use Foxit PDF Editor. Just add your Google Drive account under Files > Add a Place.
On your PC, PDF-XChange Editor is a great option. It supports Google Drive and has a customizable interface, so you can adjust the tools to fit your workflow. For example, I’ve set up my toolbar specifically for PDF markup with a stylus.
Both apps offer a free bookmarks feature, but keep in mind that the bookmarks on PC are called the Outline feature in mobile PDF apps.
I’ve been testing out Aquile Reader on Windows, and I noticed they have an Android version as well. That could work for you! I haven’t had a chance to test it myself, but if you read books from the same cloud drive, I think it should work just fine.
Thank you, but this is an ebook reader, I need a PDF reader, for documents and such
I use Moon+ Reader Pro on my Android, and it supports a bunch of formats. I just found out it’s also available for Windows! The Android version works great with PDFs, so I suspect the Windows one might be similar, though I’m not completely sure. The Windows version is only $1.39, which is much cheaper than the Android app. It could be worth checking out!
Foxit PDF Reader is a solid choice for handling PDFs. It’s user-friendly and has a range of features to make reading and annotating documents easy. If you’re looking for something reliable, it’s definitely worth considering!
