I’m on the hunt for a macro recorder that allows you to assign hotkeys to macros, preferably with support for gamepads as well. I haven’t tried any macro recorder programs yet, but I haven’t seen this feature highlighted in the ones I’ve come across. Here’s some context on why I’m particularly interested in this feature for a gamepad:
I’ve been working on live screen translating things like Japanese games. After testing various apps and methods, the most effective solution I’ve found is using Google Translate/Lens on the Android emulator MEmu, while capturing my screen with SplitCam. However, the issue I’m facing is that whenever new text or dialogue appears in a game, the translation doesn’t update unless the screen changes significantly—something that can be triggered by a black screen.
To get around this, I’ve been manually toggling the screen recording layer off and on whenever new dialogue shows up, but this has become tedious, especially for my right arm. I’m looking for a way to automate this process and be able to control it via my gamepad.
If anyone knows of a macro recorder that can do this, or if there’s a better method to make the screen translate update automatically, I’d greatly appreciate your input!
