Is XDM (Xtreme Download Manager) Discontinued? Closest Alternatives

XDM (Xtreme Download Manager) is an open-source download manager that I found to be the best option available. However, the last pre-release on GitHub was in July 2023, and the last update on the Windows Store was in January 2023. While the website is still up, I’m unsure if it’s discontinued. I started a discussion on the GitHub page, and only one person responded, speculating that it might be dead.

If XDM is indeed discontinued, what are some good alternatives? I’ve tried FDM (Free Download Manager), but it had too many bugs for my liking. Open-source options are preferred. Any suggestions?

XDM seems to be a bit outdated. While it might still work, you could look into newer download managers like IDM (Internet Download Manager) or JDownloader for more features and better compatibility.

The situation with XDM is a little fuzzy. It hasn’t had any recent updates, which could mean it’s been discontinued, but there’s still a chance that they’re still working on it. Meanwhile, here are some other download managers you might want to check out:
Open-source choice like , JDownloader: This is a well-known open-source download manager packed with features. It supports premium account sharing, handles captchas, and has a big, active community.
