As the title says, I’m not sure if this exists, but I need an app that automatically deletes the original video whenever I trim it. I have a ton of videos to trim, like, a LOT, so it would take forever to delete them all manually. If you know of anything like that, please let me know!
Is there a reason you can’t just delete them all at once after you’re done trimming? Like, if you had a thousand files in one folder, you could just hit Control + A to select everything and then delete, or shift-click to grab a bunch. You don’t have to hit delete a thousand times!
not all of them needs to be trimmed so with the names of the files it makes it super annoying and slow doing it that way
Ah, I get what you mean. You don’t really know what you’ll want to keep until you’re in the editing process, and then it’s such a hassle to sort through all those clips afterward.
Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I’d probably just be lazy about deleting them too, and then a year later I’d be like, “Okay, I’m never going to need this stuff again.”
check out FileFlows, it might be able to do what you need, but I’m not totally sure about your requirements, but Still, it could be worth checking out!
Why not just overwrite the original file if you don’t need a backup? Most editing software lets you do that unless it forces you to save it with a new name to make sure you have a backup for later. Just keep in mind that once you overwrite the file, you can’t recover it. Anyway, I’m not sure what software you’re using, but you might want to check out ShutterEncoder if you’re looking for something to help with this.
yea but all of the files are called like “game name 2023.10.19 - 00.23.52.05.DVR” so if i could edit the name and the original vid gets deleted it would be so much more clear
