I’ve got some old Windows files on a partition, and I can’t delete them because I need permission from Windows, Trusted Installer, and others. I tried Wise File Deleter and File Locksmith, but they didn’t work.
You probably need to go into the parent folder’s “Properties” and take “ownership” of that folder and its sub-folders. After that, you should be able to delete them.
Thanks, I already did that, but it just makes Windows Explorer freeze because of all the files it has to handle.
You have to let it do its thing.
I know, I said the computer itself freezes because of rewriting so many attributes at once…
Try booting from a Linux USB or DVD and mount the Windows disk. You can then use the Linux command line or GUI to delete whatever you need.
