I really don’t want to spend $20 a month right now since I only need it for a few things. I’m using Windows as my OS, and I was hoping someone might know a free way to edit PDF documents. I tried using Word and Google Docs, but the files get all messed up when I import them, so I can’t check boxes or fill in the blanks properly. I saw there’s a PDF editor on the Adobe website that I can use, but I’m not sure if it’s any good. Has anyone tried that? Or does anyone know of a good free PDF editor?
Here are a couple of free PDF tools you might find helpful:
-
PDF Shaper Free lets you split, merge, add watermarks, sign, optimize, convert, encrypt, and decrypt your PDF documents. You can also insert and move pages, plus extract text and images.
-
PDFsam is great for merging, splitting, extracting pages, rotating, and mixing your PDF files.
Both should cover a lot of your editing needs!
PDFsam can be paid for as a subscription of $0.99 monthly. That’s damn near free.
Depends on what sort of editing you want to do: editing text, or resorting pages
Try pdfgear.
I’ll also add my vote for PDF Gear. It works for everything I’ve needed so far.
How about PDF-XChange Editor
I’ll add my vote for PDFgear, I used that for a while. Right now, I’m trying out one called Skim. I haven’t used it long enough to say if it’s better or worse, but I think I like it more! It has the best dark mode of any PDF app I’ve tried, which is definitely a plus.
I love free Adobe Acrobat Pro I got from site which made me use weird software to download. Can’t complain though, the deal is great
My favorite after trying about 8 is PDFGear.
