I need help with the lost data on my mom's phone

While my mom was on a trip, her phone’s touchscreen randomly froze. Instead of asking me for help, she watched a video where some guy said the only fix was to factory reset it. So, she did it and ended up losing all her info. The phone’s a Realme 11 Pro, and she hasn’t touched it since the reset. Now, I’m looking for Windows software that can recover deleted data after a factory reset.

First, check if her Google account has any backups. If nothing’s there, see if Realme has its own backup app (kind of like how Samsung does). If it’s not on either of those, the data’s probably gone.

Phones are built to not leave any traces after a factory reset, it would be a huge security risk if they did. So, the only real shot at recovery is if any of the info was saved to the cloud.

Looks like your mom learned the hard way about the importance of backups and what a factory reset actually does. There are usually a bunch of pop-ups warning that it’ll erase everything, but I guess she missed those. Tough lesson for her, unfortunately!

the problem is factory resetting the phone deleted the encryption key. Its highly unlikely the data is recoverable. if the data is super important take it to a data recovery tech in your area.

Since its an Android phone - take a look at her Google account. Google photos may have her pictures, Google Contacts would have her contacts, etc.

If her stuff isn’t backed up, then when you do sign into the phone make sure backups are turned on.

If you really care, do not attempt to do anything, and take it to a specialist.

Yeah, data recovery software definitely exists, but I can’t remember the names since I’ve been out of the game for a while. Most of these programs will ask for payment, but if you’re determined, there are free options out there too, some generous folks make them available.

Of course, you could always pay a tech pro to do it for you if you don’t want the hassle.

When you delete data, it doesn’t actually disappear from the device. The data is still there; it just gets marked as “unused” space, so the system thinks it’s free to write over it. The info, like a picture of the family dog, is still sitting in those memory spots until something else replaces it.

What you’re looking for is data recovery software. But if you’re not super tech-savvy, it might be easier to let a specialist handle it.

Modern phones are encrypted. Resetting deletes the encryption key. No specialist can save it
