This might sound a bit dumb, but I’m kind of new to this. The portable zip file for WizTree has two EXE files, one is wiztree.exe the orther is wiztree64.exe… I ran both, but I didn’t notice any difference. Does anyone know what the difference is? I’m guessing the regular EXE is for 32-bit systems, and the 64 version is only for 64-bit systems?
Although both can be run on 64-bit computers, using the 64-bit version is advised.
Oh! thanks… Both exes run at the same speed, but I’ll use the 64bit then
i think 64-bit version only functions on 64-bit platforms, while the standard exe is for 32-bit systems,
The main difference between the two versions would only show up if you’re dealing with a really high number of files.
If the total memory needed to store all the collected info goes over 3GB and there isn’t enough free memory, the software might not be able to do its job properly. It could end up working with incomplete data or even crash, depending on how well it’s designed.
Also, if the numbers involved in the calculations go over 4GB, it can affect how fast the software runs. But on a fast computer, you probably won’t notice much difference because it can handle it easily.
