I’m looking for an ebook management app for Windows that can search all the text in my entire library for matching words. I’ve seen a lot of recommendations for library apps and tried a few, but they only search titles and authors. Is there one that does a full library search?
One of the most widely used ebook management programs is Calibre.
Thanks for the suggestion, but that was the first one I tried. It only searches titles and authors across the library. You can search the text in individual books once you open them, but not all the contents at once.
Calibre is a super popular ebook manager, and even though it doesn’t have full-text search built in, you can add a plugin called “Search the Full Text of Books” to help you index and search through all the stuff in your ebook library.
Recoll is another free search tool that can index and search through PDFs, EPUBs, and other text formats. It’s a lot like DocFetcher but has cooler search features, like finding similar words and fuzzy searching.
you can try DocFetcher, it’s a free desktop search tool that indexes text files, including PDFs and ebooks like EPUB. Just set it up to look at your ebook library, and it lets you search for words right inside the files.
