My home Wi-Fi is usually pretty solid, and I’ve never had issues with it. I’ve got limited data, and there’s usually about 50% left by the end of the month. But whenever I join an online call, whether it’s on Discord, Facebook Messenger, or Zoom, and use other apps like YouTube, Amazon, or games like Roblox, the Wi-Fi starts lagging and slowing down for no clear reason. But as soon as I leave the call, the internet goes back to normal.
most likely you have a lack of bandwidth…
…there is a 2.93 mbps upload speed and a 22–26 mbps download speed
Your upload speed is 2.93 Mbps…that’s likely the issue. Most video streams need around 5 Mbps. If you run out of upload bandwidth, everything else will start to hiccup and stutter. Nowadays, I’d say you should aim for at least 10 Mbps upload, and 20 Mbps is even better…
I think the problem might be with the router. When I first got it, the data usage was really low, so I cut back on my plan, and now there’s usually about 50%-40% left at the end of the month, which is still pretty good. Wi-Fi data is limited here in Egypt. Should I upgrade to a plan with more data, or could there be an issue with the router itself???
