Looking for the best free alternatives to Microsoft Office for an Android tablet, especially for students

I have been using the free version of MS Office for a while, but honestly, it’s pretty terrible. The web version just doesn’t work well on a tablet. Can you suggest some better apps?

Google Docs is an excellent tool…

Yeah, but every time I use it, I feel like something’s missing and I always end up going back to Microsoft Office. I’ve been using the 2007 version on my PC forever, but now I don’t have access to it, so I’m looking for new options. Google Docs just isn’t cutting it for me.

It will be really helpful if you could explain what specific features you’re missing in Google Docs that MS Office has. That way, it’ll be easier to find a good alternative.

It’s just too basic for me, and I’m more used to MS Word-style software. The main issue is that for some reason, when I type on my tablet’s keyboard, Google Docs keeps deleting the last words I wrote when I hit enter or use the back or forward arrow keys. I don’t know why it does that, but it’s super annoying and pretty frustrating.

That’s not normal. There might be something wrong with your Android’s input settings.

Try going into your settings and checking things out. Make sure to turn off Auto-correct/Auto-complete in Language & Input > Text Correction.
