I think I could probably use the Windows Search Menu better, but since I work on multiple PCs, I’m wondering if there’s a tool that does what I need.
I came across Raycast in a YouTube video and was impressed by some of its features, though not everything is relevant to me. I’ve been searching for something similar for Windows but haven’t found anything yet.
Here’s what I’m looking for:
- A tool that lets me create groups of programs to run with one word. For example, typing “Doc” could open Word and a shortcut to a specific webpage.
- Easy file search, especially for finding tools stored in specific folders. I want to be able to group and tag them.
- Shortcuts for launching favorites and displaying them.
- Something that integrates well with the Windows interface, maybe even replacing the search menu.
I use Playnite for some of this, but it’s more gaming-focused and not quite native, so it’s not perfect. If you know of anything like this (or if I’m just dreaming), I’d love to hear about it.
